We often consume too much salt, without even wondering what is happening to our body. And that’s very sad, because having a pleasure of only one meal with too much salt, can cause so much damage to our body. Maybe losing the life too. I enjoyed my meals with few more spoons of salt or extra spices, but after reading a few articles about the negative effect on my body, I stop consuming it. It’s okay to put a little salt, or just replace it with some other alternatives, but don’t take too much of it. The thing that scares me a lot, was a researches of very famous doctors and scientist from very different parts of the world. They tested animals, and found out that after a long time of consuming salt, they lose the mental ability and have lower activity of the brain. This is only one fact, but there is much more. I tried to write down only the most negative effects, but I hope it will be enough for all of you, to think twice before putting too much salt in your meals again! Here are the negative effects:
High blood pressure
Salt affects blood pressure. The more salt you enter the body, there is more sodium, and high sodium levels increase blood pressure. Salt deficiency has the opposite effect, so it is recommended to keep an eye on salt intake, as it controls the sodium level in the body.
Diseases of the heart
Sodium is very important to the body, but its excess causes great damage that can lead to cardiovascular disease, heart disease, heart failure, and stroke.
They play an important role in the filtration of waste products from the blood, and their clogging can lead to a fluid imbalance in the blood, abnormal conditions.
Need for salt
Those who consume lots of salt, often feel the need for more salt. They are advised to replace salt with other spices, such as pepper.
High salt intake leads to higher blood pressure, which can result in stroke.
Excessive salt intake in the body causes edema, which actually means swelling of the scab, legs, ankles. These are extreme cases, but there are often changes in the skin.
